In 2020, the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association and the Carolinas Food Industry Council received 519 applications for 50 scholarships, and, collectively, the winning students were awarded $125,000 through RCA. Through our scholarship programs, we have awarded over $1 million dollars.
Grocery Industry-Only (CFIC)
The Carolinas Food Industry Council will award 40 scholarships of $2,500 to students living in North or South Carolina who are employed by or whose spouse or parent is employed by a CFIC member grocery store.

Non-Grocery-Only (NCRMA)
The North Carolina Retail Merchants Association will award 10 $2,500 scholarships to students who are North Carolina residents and are employed by or whose spouse or parent is employed by a non-grocer NCRMA member store.
